You will learn to carry out essential maintenance. Practices out on the golf course, the task list is too large to list however you will start to work through a detailed skills matrix, you will be trained and signed off on standard operating procedures for every task to ensure quality and attention to detail is at the highest level.

You will out of a modern maintenance facility with a comprehensive up to date fleet of Toro and Kubota equipment. You will report to the senior greenkeepers and your performance and training will be reviewed and planned on a regular basis.
The Grove Greenkeeping apprenticeship programme is designed to give candidates the practical and theoretical skills required for a successful career in golf course management, starting at one of the world’s most prestigious golfing venues.
The apprenticeship will provide extensive training on a wide range of skills required to maintain a Golf Course to the highest possible standards.
Monday to Friday 6am – 2.30pm Overtime will be required during busy periods Weekend Rota will also be in place 6am-11amTotal hours per week: 40.00
A minimum of A*-D (9-3) in Maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent
We are not concerned about technical skills or qualifications when employing an apprentice for the golf course. However the candidate must be able to demonstrate
Keen and enthusiastic with a positive attitude towards work and their career and the love of working outside in all weather conditions with a good eye for detail and proud of your achievements
Once the apprentice has achieved a level 2 qualification and they have gained experience, knowledge and achieved new skills on the skills matrix the pay will be increased accordingly.
Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship in Green Keeping
Having your own transport and living locally is required due to early start times Additional hours will be required during busy periods and at renovations and key golf days with the PM shifts and weekend team rosters Time will be made available for training and college work Full uniform will be provided Free food eating in our staff restaurant
