Detailed Job Description

Main responsibilities and duties

- To ensure customers are satisfied with their service/repair experience and the work completed leading to repeat business

- To confidently upsell additional work and services to customers

- Advise customers in relation to their vehicles’ service and repair needs, handles their enquiries effectively and ensures that customers are handled professionally in all aspects of their interface with the Service Team

- Answer telephone and respond to customer enquiries

- Encourage service enquiries to optimise service bookings

- Collect relevant data from customers to facilitate the booking and to meet their individual needs (e.g. collect and deliver, courtesy car etc.) and qualify the customers service or repair requirements

- Professionally greet the customer on arrival to the retail facility and reconfirm work required, note any additional work needed, check contact methods, arrange collection and delivery or courtesy car if required, establish method of payment and agree completion time

- Demonstrate controls on courtesy vehicle where appropriate and ensure relevant insurance paperwork is completed

- Price additional work that has been notified by the technician, then updates customer of progress and additional work required

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

GCSE or equivalent Maths and English at grade C or above desirable but not essential.

Skills required

- An interest in everything automotive

- Excellent people skills

- Organised

- Must be a team player

- Must have flexible ‘can do’ approach

Additional Information

Training provided

Advanced Apprenticeship in Customer Service (framework).

This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.

Once you commence at the Retailer, further induction training will be supplied by the Retailer. You will also receive visits and other training from the Learning Skills Partnership representative. Please be aware that the wage will vary dependent on age, please see below further details. 16 - £4 per hour 17 - £4.71 per hour 18 - £5.55 per hour 19 - £6.07 per hour 20 - £6.37 per hour 21+ year old - £6.95 per hour
