Description
Suffolk Leisure Park is an outdoor activity centre based on the outskirts of Ipswich. They currently require an Outdoor Activities Apprentice to join the business. You will be part of an ever-growing business with the goal to be a dual qualified ski and snowboard instructor.
Other duties will include;
• Supervision of other outdoor activities. such as;
o Tobogganing,
o Ringo’s,
o Climbing Wall
o High Ropes Experience.
• Basic administration.
• Site maintenance.
• Delivery excellent customer service and answering customer queires, face to face, e-mail or via telephone Good customer service is essential and you will need to be approachable and able to adapt to each customer’s requirements while remaining professional.
Whilst undergoing training you will start by shadowing the relevant senior staff and then once ready be supervised performing the role yourself. They will advise on best practice while ensuring a good service is delivered.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Active Leisure Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Intermediate Diploma in Activity leadership
Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.
You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.
Hard working, self-motivated and approachable. Good customer service is essential. An outgoing nature and enthusiasm.
The long-term aim will be for you to be leading sessions/lessons as a qualified instructor. Once established within the business team leadership will be expected, leading an example to junior staff.
