This role is ideal for someone who is keen to develop as a receptionist within a Criminal Justice setting. We are seeking someone with enthusiasm and drive, the ability to work alongside and learn from colleagues, and a desire to release their potential within a structured learning and working environment. We offer a nurturing approach to learning with regular supervision so that you can be the best that you can be. During your apprenticeship you will learn to: Receive all visitors to the building including staff, service users and contractors. Facilitate service users attendance on daytime accredited programmes and groups. Process incoming and outgoing telephone calls, taking messages and answering queries as appropriate. Process incoming and outgoing post including receiving deliveries and facilitating collections from the office. Monitor and record expenditure from the reception cash tin in relation to the issuing travel warrants and payment of fares. Input invoices and create purchase orders. Take responsibility for ordering stationery, assist in the ordering of office furniture and equipment, liaise with suppliers as appropriate. Undertake inputting and extracting of data on the computer systems, pro actively obtaining information from service users to ensure up to date and accurate recording. Maintain filing systems and undertake photocopying and other relevant duties under the guidance of the Facilities Coordinator. Take responsibility for maintaining the waiting area including ensuring information is up to date. Learn to contribute to the maintenance of office equipment. Liaise on building issues as required e.g. liaison with Facilities Management Helpdesk
Confident telephone manner Potential to develop excellent customer service skills Excellent all round IT skills (MS Word, MS Excel, Internet, Intranet, databases) Basic knowledge of Health & Safety in an office environment Able to prioritise work effectively, be organised and have an ability to multi-task. Numerate and literate with the ability to handle and reconcile cash.
Able to work on own initiative Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team. Flexible and calm approach to work. Driven and determined with confident approach to executing tasks
City and Guilds full Framework level 2 & 3 QCF apprenticeship, including Functional Skills (Numeracy and Literacy) and full Technical Certificate, employer and employee rights and responsibilities, personal learning and thinking. All training and assessments delivered on employer site.
