We are looking for an aspiring chef to join our team at our new, second restaurant in Potters Bar. Working closely with the Head Chef and Sous Chef, full training will be given.

Detailed Job Description

  • Working with our team of chefs.
  • You will be working with one or more experienced chefs at all times.
  • Daily duties to include preparation of all our food, cooking during the service, cleaning, washing up, health and safety checks.
  • You will be taught how a kitchen is run and how all of the items on the menu are developed and cooked.

Opening times:

Tuesday to Sunday 12pm-10pm (11pm Friday & Saturday) You will work 4 - 5 days out of 7 per week. The scheduled hours may vary and will include some shift work and weekends.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

A minimum of A*-D (9-3) in Maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent

Skills required

  • Experience of cooking.
  • Knowledge of Health and safety.
  • Be able to work in a team under other chefs

Personal Qualities

  • Pleasant character
  • Punctual
  • Team player
  • To be able to take instruction from others

Future prospects

We are looking to open new restaurants in the near future, so there is an opportunity for the right person to take over a new kitchen or this kitchen if they progress

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is currently £3.50 per hour from 1st April 2017. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over, in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
