An excellent opportunity with a long established Day Nursery in Gamesley, Glossop. We are looking to recruit an Apprentice to work alongside our staff looking after children aged from childbirth to 5 years

Wind-in-the-Willows private day nursery opened in 1996 and operates from a detached bungalow on a main road on the outskirts of Glossop in Derbyshire. A maximum of 20 children may attend the nursery at any one time. The nursery is open each weekday from 07.30 to 18.00 all year round. All children share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area.

Detailed Job Description

An opportunity has arisen within a day nursery based in Glossop who care for children from birth to 5 years, they are looking to recruit an apprentice in Childcare. Duties will include supervising and monitoring the safety of children in their care, preparing activities and organising routines to ensure children have enough physical activity, rest and playtime. They will also be required to keep records of children’s progress, routines and interests.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Ideally you will have GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C (4) or above

Skills required

The successful candidate will need excellent communication and instructional skills and also have a sense of fun, be creative with a good imagination, good physical stamina,

Personal Qualities

The successful candidate will be caring, honest, trustworthy, punctual and reliable.

Future prospects

There may be the opportunity to progress and complete the Level 3 Apprenticeship after successful completion of the Level 2 course

Additional Information

Training provided

You will work towards CACHE Level 2 Certificate for the Children and Young People’s Workforce (England) (QCF). The Apprenticeship will be a minimum of 12 months in duration and all training is delivered in the Workplace. You will be visited every month by your course tutor / assessor & fully supported throughout

Must also be able to start work at 7.30am and finish at 6pm at the latest.
