Description

Main Responsibilities, we are looking for people to be focused, a team player, and pro-active.

1. Preparing vegetables, help to cook home made meals.

2. Taking consideration into special dietary requirements and individuals requests.

3. Making sure your work space is clean and tidy at all times.

4. Washing cutlery and crockery making sure that all cooking equipment is kept in good condition stored correctly.

5. Help with preparing breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and supper.

6. Help with preparing of afternoon cakes.

7. Ability to work as part of a team.

8. Good communication skills

9. Can work under pressure and to a high standard.

10. To complete temperature recordings in the SFBB book.

The programme is made up of 2 main qualifications - a level 2 NVQ Diploma in Food Production & Cooking and a Level 2 Certificate in Hospitality and Catering Principles, which covers:

· Health, safety and security of the working environment.

· Food safety and hygiene practices.

· Working as part of a team.

· Food preparation.

· Promoting and presenting menus.

· Healthier dishes.

· Complete kitchen documentation.

· The production of simple dishes including fish, poultry, meat and vegetables, bread and dough, rice and pastas, hot and cold desserts, cakes and biscuits.

· The preparation of meals to meet relevant nutritional standards.

On successful completion of the apprenticeship there is a possibility of a job role.

Working days are Monday - Sunday and the shift pattern will be on a 2 week rota basis. Hourly wage will increase after 12- 14 weeks by £1.00 extra. CRB will be charged to individuals. Uniform - tunic and badge will be supplied. Suitable black trousers and shoes must be purchased and worn by the individual. All staff are expected to maintain confidentiality and data protection at all times.
