We are currently seeking a dynamic nursery apprentice to work as part of the team at a small nursery in Berkhamsted.
This is an exciting role to work with children aged from 2year old to 5year old full time, 35 - 40 hours a week.

Marlin Nursery is a small nursery with a small team of members of staff. Our staff are qualified and enthusiastic people who are of mixed age group bringing different skills and experiences to the children. This makes our nursery a friendly place where each child enjoys individual attention. Marlin Nursery operates for 50 weeks of the year providing both care and education from 8.00 a.m. until 6.00 p.m.

To contribute a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children placed in the Nursery. To give support to other personnel within the Nursery. To implement the daily routine in the base room. To contribute to a programme of activities suitable to the age range of children in your area, in conjunction with other staff. Support all staff and engage in a good staff team. Liaise with and support parents and other family members. To be flexible within working practices of Nursery. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Nursery, e.g. preparation of snack meals, cleansing of equipment, etc. Work alongside the manager and staff team to ensure that the philosophy behind the project is fulfilled. Recording accidents in the accident book. Look upon the Nursery as a ”whole”, where can your help be most utilised, be constantly aware of the needs of children.
GCSE maths and English at grade A*- C/D. Working towards a level 2 NVQ.
Skills will be taught on the job.
Enthusiastic, eager to learn, good time management, good team working skills, creative.
Opportunity to get a permanent place and grow to a management level if right skills, knowledge and commitment shown.
All learning will be done in the workplace; you may need to attend the occasional workshop in College. If you need to complete Functional Skills, you will be required to attend College once a week for at least the first 3 months. Apprentices without Maths or English at level 1 must achieve this level and take the test for level 2 Maths and English before the end of the apprenticeship
