Description

With a grounding in the hunting fields of the Cotswolds, surrounded by inspiring and well known Equestrians, we compete and train at a professional event yard in Oxfordshire.

We compete from novice to International 3* Level.

We currently have a great opportunity for an Apprentice Groom to join our friendly yard which has cosy accommodation provided and very experienced grooms on site to learn from the best.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Equine experience will be beneficial
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training provided which is supported by Haddon Training
Successful candidate will be hard working, keen to succeed in the equine industry and have a strong interest in eventing and competing
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
Cosy accommodation available
