We offer a variety of health services such as smoking cessation advice, weight management, cholesterol testing, diabetes testing, asthma screening service and a travel clinic which provides excellent opportunities for learning. Additionally we have a photographic department providing an opportunity to learn how to produce a variety of photographic products.

Detailed Job Description

The Apprentice Healthcare Assistant will receive full training and support in this family run pharmacy. The training includes fully sponsored support to achieve the Medicine Counter Assistants qualification. The role includes customer contact face to face, including over the counter sales, and over the telephone. Also, EPOS stock control, patient data entry which will include NHS/private prescriptions and maintenance of the general appearance and cleanliness of the shop areas.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

Maths and English at Grade C (or equivalent) and above desirable although not essential.

- Ability to work to deadlines and maintain a focus on priority tasks

Training provided

Customer Service Practitioner Level 2 Apprenticeship standard.

This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.
