The job involves preparing, fabricating and welding components required in structural projects. Components may be prepared in-house or bought in, then assembled further. Measuring and cutting metal, to the required sizes, according to detailed drawings may also be required. Additional activities might include assembling systems and visiting sites. On occasions some labouring and ground work will be required.
None, although Maths and English will need to be passed at Level 2 before the end of the qualification
Able to work with heavy and often dirty materials, mainly steel. Desire to see products finished well. Work both in workshop and on-site required.

Welding and fabricating using MIG/MAG and MMA on Mild Steel. The new standard requires a detailed training plan to be drawn up with the employer – which will be done when the candidate is identified, to ensure best possible outcomes for employer and apprentice.
This employer is prepared to pay significantly over the national minimum wage for the right candidate. The precise figure will be negotiated after a trial period, it can be expected to be in the region of £6.50. Regular pay-reviews will take place, increases will be linked to productivity.
