Detailed Job Description

As a Financial Planning Administrator Apprentice your duties will incorporate all elements of a busy financial services environment alongside full training and support from the Babington Group. Candidates will be expected to . . .

  • Be a team player. proactively contributing to the team and company culture
  • Deliver excellent, clear, appropriate and concise communication skills at all levels with clients, colleagues and external contacts
  • Observe and recognise the financial planning requirements of clients, be able to administer/implement effective and compliant financial plans. Be able to maintain and anticipate these strategies over the lifetime of the client’s service agreement
  • Complete and maintain accurate and comprehensive records for each financial planning client
  • Ensure consistent delivery of the companies and administration department
  • Maintain strict confidentiality at all times, whether relating to clients’ or the company’s documentation and information
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of financial products, service providers, regulatory requirements and codes of practice to this role
  • Attend internal and external courses as agreed appropriate to ensure ongoing competencies
  • Attend company events as requested

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

A minimum of 5 GCSE’s A-C including Maths and English

Skills required

  • Knowledge of MS Office to a high and competent level, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills with clients, colleagues and external contacts at all levels
  • Organised, able to prioritise and schedule/reschedule workflow using Microsoft Outlook Calendar

Personal Qualities

  • Approachable with good interpersonal skills
  • A high standard of personal presentation
  • An interest in Financial Planning, Legal and Accounting sector

Future prospects

Progression to full time Financial Support Administrator or Advisor is available for the candidate upon satisfactory completion of the apprenticeship programme
