Description

We have both a livery yard and do rehabilitation with K Laser treatments.

On site you will need to be hard working and self-motivated. Keen to work as a team member and willing to undertake all the duties involved in looking after clients horses and running and maintaining a busy yard.

There will be a weekly opportunity to spend some training time at a busy horse producing yard, (next door) where there would be the opportunity to ride or learn to ride.

Enthusiasm and dedication more important than experience, we are looking for someone who is excited to learn and understands that looking after horses is hard work.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets and water buckets
  • Washing buckets and feed bowls
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Some experience with horses would be beneficial, but not essential
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training supported by Haddon Training
Successful candidate must be hard-working and self-motivated. You will enjoy working as part of a team but also able to use own initiative when required
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
