Description

  • To support the HR Team in the daily running of the department, including liaising with recruitment agencies, GP and Occupational Heath appointments. To provide the HR Team with administration support for HR casework.
  • To provide administration support to the HR Team in all matters relating to HR and recruitment. (Full training will be provided).
  • To assist the HR Database Administrator to keep all HR databases and software up to date, as and when requested. (Full training will be provided).
  • To carry out Reception Duties as and when requested or rota. Rota will only apply when Receptionist is on annual leave, attending training or off sick. (Full training will be provided).

  • To maintain confidentiality for all areas of Spectrum, its team and its work. The nature of the work within the service entrusts people with confidential information about people with autism, their families, carers and team members. Any breach of confidentiality will constitute gross misconduct.

General Responsibilities:

  • Co-operate with all Spectrum team members in maintaining good relationships with outside agencies and the general public in order to uphold Spectrum’s image.
  • To be committed to continued self-development of own practice and undertake all appropriate training and development as required by your role.
  • Promote a positive image of Autistic Spectrum Disorders and the service at Spectrum.
  • Ensure that your conduct at all times does not conflict with professional expectations of Spectrum.
  • Actively support and promote Spectrum and all its policies including Equal Opportunities.
  • Attend and participate in HR team meetings and HR training as required.
  • Ensure the respect, dignity and rights to privacy of all service users as far as possible.
  • Participate in regular Management, Support and Development sessions with your Line Manager.
  • Carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the job, the title of the post and its grading as requested by your Line Manager or by a higher level of authority.

  • Day 1 Recap key messages from induction on how to successfully complete the apprenticeship. Employee Rights and Responsibilities. Learner will develop an understanding of the role of organisations and industries, as well as gaining an understanding and awareness of employer’s expectations and employees’ rights and obligations.
  • Day 2 Managing personal performance and development: SMART targets; Professional development; Career development goals; Work-life balance; Feedback; Learning styles; Time management.
  • Day 3 Communication in a business environment: Clear, effective and professional written, verbal and non-verbal communication. Apprenticeship Assessment/ Programme Review visit at workplace.
  • Day 4 Customer service and Sales: Maximising sales (upselling & cross selling); Sales techniques; Feature and benefits; Needs and expectations; Brand promises; Service offer; Service knowledge; Equality and Diversity.
  • Day 5 Business awareness and change: Business structures and models; External and internal factors that may impact on a business; Goals, objectives and how these align with strategy; change implementation.
  • Day 6 Equality and Diversity: Understanding equality and diversity; Benefits of E&D; Legal implications. Apprenticeship Assessment/ Programme Review visit at workplace.
  • Day 7 Teamwork: Developing good work relationships; Making a positive contribution to the business; Dealing with conflict.
  • Day 8 Project development (½ day): Identification of project; Developing business case; Developing project plan. Health and Safety. Legislation requirements.
  • Day 9 Project development (½ day): Reviewing project progress; Developing project. Study ½ day. Apprenticeship Assessment/ Programme Review visit at workplace.
  • Day 10 Presentation skills: Project review; Presentation skills; Presentation software.
  • Day 11 Project presentations. Learner project presentations to employer audience. * Presentation of certificates for unit examination achievements. * Time/duration dependant on cohort group size.
On Successful completion of the apprenticeship there is a possibility of a job role.
9-5 Monday to Thursday and 9-4 on Fridays. Enhanced DBS checked will be carried out and must be passed. Working out of our Head Office, currently in Penryn. Moving in May 2018 to new offices at Trevissome Park, Blackwater. Our building is the one with the grass roof! http://www.trevissomepark.co.uk. Must be a car driver as currently no public transport to new offices.
