Job Summary

Detailed Job Description

Evan’s Consulting Engineers Limited is a small specialist civils and bridge engineering consultancy located in Redditch in Worcestershire. The company are growing and with various foreseeable prospects they are looking to hire two civil engineering apprentices to help them with day to day activities. Upon completion of the apprenticeship and subject to overall performance they’ll be looking to offer permanent employment as technician civil engineers. The work is predominantly technical and concentrates around analysis and design. The majority of the work is related to bridge design and maintenance, but they also carry out other general civils, infrastructure, foundation and geotechnical investigations and designs. You will be assisting with the following:

  • Preparation of contract documents of bridges and management of bridge design projects and CDM
  • Producing designs for principal client/customer
  • Using various software packages including AutoCAD and Rivet.

The apprentices will gradually get trained on computer aided designs and using AutoCAD, 3D Civil Engineering and other platforms as we feel that it is very important for engineers to have good drafting skills in order to manage CAD technicians in the future and to understand blueprints. A lot of the designs these days due to BIM are in 3D and some times we produce fabrications drawings. We will also train apprentices on the use of structural analysis software and on in house design spread sheets.

Evan’s Consulting Engineers Limited possess a pool of engineering software to complete the most advanced civil, structural, geotechnical and building design requirements. We have state-of-the-art modelling, design, analysis, and drafting capabilities and you will become involved in this from day one.
