Description
The White Heart Inn is looking for an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant to work with the General Manager and the team to learn every aspect of the business.
Duties will include:
•Meeting and greeting guests
•Waiting on, taking orders, serving food and drinks to customers
•Clear and clean tables
•Bar duties, serving drinks, restocking fridges, stock rotation
•Maintain the cleanliness of the trading areas and ensure correct procedure is followed for all equipment used
•Taking bookings, dealing with enquiries
•Handle cash and credit card transactions
•Adhere to health & safety policies
As an Apprentice Hospitality Assistant you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service and serving food and drinks to customers in a friendly and professional manner and communicating with bar and kitchen staff. You will be included on a Hospitality Qualification, this will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor who will visit you on a regular basis, to deliver the training and coach the Apprentice and will be observing whilst you work. To be able to work on own initiative as well as in a team. Previous experience is not required as the employer is looking for someone who wants to develop a long term career in Hospitality.
GCSE’s Maths and English A*- C desirable.
Level 2 Hospitality Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills and who is able to provide excellent customer service. You will need an outgoing personality and plenty of common sense, be reliable & punctual.
