Description

We have various different services for children and adults alike for all horse enthusiasts and budding riders. We are a family friendly group, who provide a professional approach to riding with such courses as BHS Training for stages and Road Safety Exams. Along with the friendly atmosphere suitable for beginners and birthday parties.

We are looking for a keen Horse Care Apprentice to join our busy, friendly team to carry out a range of duties across the riding school.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Assisting with lessons (e.g. leading)
  • Assisting customers while on site

Some basic horse care experience will be beneficial
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training supported by Haddon Training
Successful Apprentice will be hard-working and keen to succeed within a successful riding school.
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
