Detailed Job Description

KEY DUTIES:

  • Assemble our range of products to a specified standard.
  • Involvement in prototype development and build.
  • Carry out basic machining when required for standard and prototype products.
  • Carry out service engineering tasks as required.
  • Input stock/goods in and maintain records.
  • Contribute to and maintain the production schedule.
  • Purchase components and supplies as directed.
  • Conduct print trials on customer samples
  • Carry out additional tasks as requested.

The working week is 40 hours. Normal working hours for the office are from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday with a one-hour lunch break every day from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. In the factory there are 30 minute lunch breaks from 1.00pm allowing a 3.00pm finish on Fridays

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

A minimum of A*-C (9-4) in Maths and English GCSE or Functional Skills equivalent

Skills required

  • Good general education.
  • Aptitude for craft skills.
  • Ability to write in a concise manner – writing reports and instructions.

Personal Qualities

  • Good attention to detail.
  • Quick learner.
  • Practical and eager to learn.
  • Has a sense of urgency

Future prospects

As a growing company progression is possible in more specialist areas such as product development, purchasing/production planning, service and sales. Further training will be provided where appropriate.

Training provided

Intermediate Level 2 Apprenticeship in Engineering

As part of the training you are likely to attend UK trade shows where transport and accommodation will be provided where necessary. Occasional visits to customer premises may also be beneficial. Starting at £152 per week (£3.80 per hour) with 6 monthly reviews.
