Under the guidance of the Operations Co-ordinator you will be responsible for administrative tasks which facilitate the movement of reclaimed paper from supplier to customer. Working in a small, friendly team, your day to day activities will entail admin, finance and customer service related tasks, helping to support all functions of a busy office. This is a real opportunity to work for a growing business where you will be treated as a valued member of the team. You will complete the Business Administration Level 2 qualification while gaining real office experience.
Providing waste paper management solutions to Northwood associated companies, Northwood Recycling can ensure that reclaimed paper is taken care of legally, diverting some 75,000 tonnes per year of recovered fibre back into the raw material supply chain. Northwood Recycling supply not only to Northwood associated paper mills, they also support other mills within the UK and Europe.

Northwood Recycling is a waste paper merchant buying and selling mostly in the UK and the Republic of Ireland, but also mainland Europe. It operates with a small team but moves over 100,000 tonnes of waste paper per year. Its biggest customers are Northwood associated group companies Northwood Tissue (Disley) Ltd and Northwood Tissue (Lancaster) Ltd. This means Northwood Recycling holds a highly responsible position in the running of two paper mills.
This role is involved in the end-to-end Northwood Recycling Ltd supply chain, supporting administration requirements for NRL’s trading activities, working closely alongside NRL’s Operations Co-ordinator.
We are looking for someone who can demonstrate quick thinking and good use of their own initiative as well as great interpersonal skills. This is a very hands-on position where attention to detail and the ability to retain information is a must.
All training will be provided for the above but in order to progress within the business you must have the following:
Standard level of education.

Once you have successfully completed this Apprenticeship, there may be a permanent role that you can progress onto. You can also develop your skills further and use your technical experience and knowledge gained to progress on your learner journey. You will receive a structured learning and development programme with the very best training and support throughout your Apprenticeship journey from Learning Unlimited and Northwood.
Learning Unlimited is part of the Chesterfield College Group and there will be no requirement for you to attend day release at a college or training centre. You will be visited in the workplace by a Work Based Tutor; there will be a variety of activity at these sessions including observations, professional discussions and project-led work. Actions will be set to assess underpinning knowledge and ensure progression on programme.
