Apprenticeship at Retirement and rehabilitation livery. We are proficient in caring for horses with conditions relating to the older equine including Cushings, Metabolic Syndrome and Laminitis. We are accustomed to caring for horses with signs of ageing such as arthritis

Detailed Job Description

General yard duties such as:

  • Liaising with vets
  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Field duties
  • Rug changing
  • Bathing
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • Bandaging
  • Administering medicine
  • Feeding
  • Haying/watering

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

ability to do L1 functional skills

Skills required

Some previous experience with horses is preferred

Personal Qualities

  • Hard working
  • Keen
  • Fit and healthy
  • Reliable

Future prospects

Full time position on completion of diploma.

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

This is only a live in position for the summer months.
