We are a B.H.S approved livery yard located in the beautiful Test Valley in Hampshire. The yard is set in 150 acres of farmland and has been established for over 30 years. The centre offers a relaxed and friendly environment with professional care for both you and your horse.

We are looking for an Equine Groom to help with the day to day running of the livery yard and to develop a high standard of equine care to all horses on our site. Due to the livery yard, this will be a non-riding position, however you will have the opportunity to care and groom for a wide range of horses from top level competition horses to leisurely horses.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Paddock maintenance
  • First aid Holding for vet/farrier/dentist
  • There will be some opportunity to get more involved dependent on your abilities so this is not a definitive list of duties.

Basic experience with horses would be beneficial
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training supported by Haddon Training
Successful Apprentice will be hard-working and keen to deliver high standard of care for a wide range of livery horses
Possibility of Level 3 Senior Groom position on completion of Level 2
Accommodation possibly available in June 2018, livery available for own horse at discounted rate
