The hospice runs a 21-bed inpatient unit, 16-place day hospice and a range of therapy and support services on site. The hospice primarily enables people to stay in their own homes for as long as possible. It offers family support to patients and their families for as long as needed.

Detailed Job Description

As an Events and Marketing Apprentice, you will be responsible for assisting the team with all aspects of managing events including promoting and organising all activities. The Apprentice will be responsible for setting up and supporting events.

Key responsibilities and duties are as follows:

  • To provide full marketing support to the Events and Fundraising team
  • Liaising with internal and external customers
  • Planning the annual programme of events and campaigns which supports individuals, the community and corporate giving.
  • Assist with creating imagery, content, etc.
  • Laise and work with external supporter groups, including community groups, schools and companies, and to assist them in the planning and promotion of their events.
  • Work within an agreed budget.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of results from events in line with the departmental budget and strategic plan.
  • Wear the costume for Ashley Bear, the Ashgate HospiceCare mascot which will contribute towards newsletter editorial as necessary.
  • Flexible approach to the working day and be prepared to attend some evening/weekend/bank holiday presentations and events.
  • Help train other members of staff and volunteers.Perform other duties as required by the Fundraising and Communications Department.

Full training and support will be provided to the successful candidates. There may be an opportunity to progress at the end of the apprenticeship for the right person. This is an excellent role if you’re looking to launch your career within events, fundraising and/or marketing and there’s the chance of progression for the right person. You can also develop your skills further and use your technical experience and knowledge gained to progress on your learner journey. You will receive a structured learning and development programme with the very best training and support throughout your Apprenticeship journey.
