Barnswell Ltd is a distributor of designer fashion and accessories, specialising in sourcing the very best designer labels at exceptional prices, and supplying them to a broad base of multiple retailers, online businesses and independent outlets in the UK and overseas.
They have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice warehouse operative to join their expanding team.
The position of Apprentice Warehouse Operative will involve the daily processing, picking and despatching of customer orders.
Duties will include;
Preparing products for inbound shipments to Amazon and other fulfilment centres.
Accepting and checking in of stock deliveries and putting these away.
Checking and processing customer returns and testing any faulty product returns received.
Checking stock levels and performing stock takes as required.
Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment at all times, cleaning and sweeping the warehouse as required.
You will work under the supervision and instruction of the existing warehouse operative on a day to day basis and report to the company director.
As an Apprentice you will be included on an intermediate supply chain warehouse operative Level 2 qualification.
Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Computer literate, familiar and confident with using the internet and able to learn new systems.
Can listen and take instruction and be prepared to learn every aspect of the warehouse we operate and develop a basic knowledge of the products we sell.
Have a good attention to detail for reading, picking and packing customer orders.
No qualifications required as full training will be given.
Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role.
This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

Successful completion of the apprenticeship course and commitment to the position would provide a good basis for a permanent role at the end of the period and progression within the company.
