Description
Kendell’s Restaurant is an independently owned, casual, informal place to dine with the main focus on the quality of fresh food, great wine and fantastic service within a French bistro atmosphere.
The opportunity has arisen to join the team as an Apprentice Chef where you will be working straight shifts at our wonderful restaurant. You will be working 30-40 hours per week working in the kitchen of a French styled bistro, where all food is prepared on the premises. The successful candidate will work along side our team of Chefs, who have over many years experience in the catering industry.
Duties will include
• Preparation of vegetables, salads, soups, sauces, starters, main courses and desserts.
• Cooking and presenting all dishes on the menu to a high standard.
• Some washing up and cleaning duties also required in the kitchen.
• Fridge and Freezer monitoring in line with food safety and health and hygiene procedures
.• To ensure good food quality and correct quantity.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
Level 2 Hospitality Team Member ( Chef ) Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role This will include the completion of Functional Skills in Maths and English.Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer, and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment

No formal qualifications essential for this role. The most important attribute is to be extremely passionate about food and excitement to join a team where you will benefit from in-depth training in a local independent restaurant serving delicious in house prepared, quality fresh food.
