Kare Plus Wirral is part of the Kare Plus Franchise. It opened in 2014 and has grown steadily since then. We are a dual business which focuses on a) Temporary Staffing of nurses and health carers in Nursing homes and private hospitals across Wirral and Liverpool and b) Provides home care to residents in their own homes for those who live in the community on the Wirral.

Detailed Job Description

Duties will include:

  • Works with the Kare Plus IT management and rostering system; support as required with any payroll data management, inputs or updates as required to ensure smooth processing of payroll functions.
  • Calculating overtime, shift payments and pay increases.
  • Manages payroll correspondence by answering emails and sorting mail.
  • Checks how many hours employees have worked.
  • Actively chase employees or franchisees for missing paperwork/outstanding information to ensure that cut offs are met.
  • Accurately, process absences and ensure that details are forwaded promptly to payroll.
  • Correspond with employees applying for other types of statutory leave, ensuring their understanding and that all legislative requirements have been met.
  • Accurately input variable data including commissions, bonuses and overtime in line with the monthly timetable as required by payroll.
  • Undertaking full checks of the commissions as they are submitted before they are imputed to ensure that they are accurate and complete prior to the monthly cut off.
  • Ensure that ALL filing is away accurately and in a timely fashion as per HMRC guidelines.
  • Ensuring awareness of internal and external audit items that are raised when auditors have been in, to ensure that you are aware of any process changes.
  • Liaise with Payroll to be able to update staff where deducting tax and national insurance payments.
  • Answering franchisee or staff queries about timesheets or pay slips.
  • May also be required to carry out some human resources administration.
  • Drafts, formats, organises and prints relevant payroll documentation.
  • Manages staff expense requests.
  • Maintains accurate records, (e.g., for employee holiday requests).
  • Attends training, workshops and conferences when requested.

Requirements and Prospects

Qualifications required

AAT Level 2 is desirable

GCSE’s including Maths and English grades A-C

Future prospects

Two previous apprentices have successfully completed and have joined Kare Plus Wirral & Liverpool fulltime. Similarly the company are looking to develop a finance apprentice into a substantive permanent Finance Officer role and will also provide further continuing professional development such as team leading as the department and company expand.

Training provided

AAT Advanced Diploma in Accounting – Level 3

The Advanced Diploma in Accounting covers a range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and the preparation of reports and returns. You’ll learn and master a number of accounting disciplines including financial processes, advanced bookkeeping, final accounts and ethical practices for accountants.

  • Analysing variances
  • Reconciling ledgers
  • Making provisions for doubtful and irrecoverable debts

Car parking available (costs £1.20 per day) and has good access to public transport links (buses and train). Benefits include 20 days plus bank holidays and able to opt into pension via NEST.
