Description
Cape of Good Hope is a True Canal side Pub - The Grand Union Canal is just a few feet from the front door, adjacent to Cape top lock on the Grand Union Canal. Serving homely food.
They are looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who wants to train as an apprentice chef, and who also has a passion to learn about the catering trade, and who is prepared to invest themselves into the business as much as we will be investing in them.
Responsibilities included in this role:
Prepare, cook and present food to company specification
Keep kitchen clean, tidy and hygienic at all times
Work safely around kitchen equipment and monitor and deal with any maintenance issues
Keep up to date with new products, menus and promotions
Adhere to company policies and procedures and licensing laws
Carry out instructions
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

We are looking for someone with a keen interest in food and an enthusiasm to learn, good communication skills, good use of initiative and common sense.
None required, just a keen interest in working in the Hospitality industry. Will complete Maths and English Functional Skills as part of the Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship Hospitality Commis Chef Level 2
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
Good time keeper, good organisational skills, self-motivated, punctual, honesty, polite and well presented. Able to work as part of a team and take instruction. Able to work in a busy environment.
