Description

Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.

A lot of riding available depending on capability.

Yard/competition groom needed for a friendly eventing yard based in Wiltshire who break and train top competition horses up to 4* level. The successful candidate will be working alongside our Head Girl as part of a team, and will be hard-working, dedicated, enthusiastic and confident handling fit competition horses.

There is seven unbroken horses which will be broken this winter, so there is the opportunity to handle youngsters and assist with breaking.

General yard duties such as:

  • Mucking out
  • Bringing in/turning out
  • Cleaning tack
  • Tacking up
  • Clipping/plaiting/trimming/bathing
  • Exercising horses (lunging, putting horses onto the walker, long-reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Field duties
  • Riding (hacking, schooling) (dependent on capability)
  • Rug changing
  • Bandaging, learning basic horse first aid etc.
  • Assisting with breaking
  • Handling youngsters

Experience with horses is preferable
