We are looking for a new team member to facilitate development support in our fast growing business. We require a trainee who thrives on a challenge and works well under pressure, a motivated self-starter with a keen eye for detail.
The successful candidate will become a key figure at Flip Flop Shop, learning from an experienced lead developer, who will guide you through projects for the business. During training you will be immersed in all aspects of operational system development within our busy eCommerce enterprise.
We are looking for a person who can demonstrate resilience and aptitude for learning new skills, who has a passion for new technology and ideally has some exposure to modern programming languages.

Some knowledge or experience in any of the following is beneficial:

As a Software Developer you would be required to build and test simple, high-quality code across front end, logic and database layers. You will typically be working as part of a larger team, in which you will have responsibility for some of the straightforward elements of the overall project. You will need to be able to interpret design documentation and specifications. The customer requirements will typically be defined and agreed by more experienced or specialist members of the team, such as a business analyst or technical architect.
This apprenticeship programme could be for new or existing staff who will need to demonstrate expertise in the technical side of their role. You will develop strong problem-solving skills and a good grasp of the theoretical and practical aspects of software development. It is essential that you are able to work independently but also operate as an effective team member, have good customer handling skills and identify ways in which they can work more efficiently.
Programme Content:
Taught Sessions at College (1 day a week): You will be given the opportunity to gain the following industry recognised professional qualifications:
- BCS Systems Development Essentials
- At least one another software development qualification
Work-based Learning: Within the workplace you will be given the opportunity to develop a portfolio of work demonstrating and evidencing your development of skills, knowledge and competence.

After a successful completion of apprenticeship the candidate may secure a permanent position with the company.
