Description

Cleaning Kennels and Cat pens and other kennel and cattery areas including kitchens, corridors, restrooms, offices, storerooms, grooming area and outside areas.

Laundering of animal bedding and towels etc

Feeding and exercising pets staying at Precious Pets.

Administering Medication, supervision of animals, record keeping, grooming and bathing of animals.

Dealing with customers and visitors.

Discussing customers’ pets.

Managing arrivals and departures and taking bookings when required.Maintenance including in-depth cleaning, decoration, repairs and grounds maintenance.

Advanced Apprentice additional duties include:

Training and supervising new staff, volunteers and work experience students

Contributing to business development Developing improvements in working practices

Updating working procedures and standardsKennel work is physically demanding.

Applicants must be willing to work hard and be able to think for themselves.

Applicants must be confident to converse with customers and use a computer based booking system.

Training will be provided.

Previous experience is preferred but applicants with a good attitude and a positive ’can do’ approach will be considered equally.

Some previous experience with animals is essential.
To be able to work towards Level 1 or higher Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Animal Care Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training
Keen, hardworking, calm handling animals, reliable, punctual.
Full time position on completion of diploma.
Applicants must be willing to work at least one weekend day per week and bank holidays as part of their normal week. You may also be required to provide additional cover or change of hours at short notice.
