Description
We are looking for enthusiastic Food and Beverage Apprentice to join our team at The Durrant House Hotel.
The role will involve working in either the Appledore Bar or the Olive Tree restaurant.
Duties Include:
You will be responsible for assisting private and coach guest with their seating and menu choices.
These orders must then be taken to the kitchen.
You will be responsible for clearing the tables and setting them up for the following meal time.
We are also open to non-residents and you would be expected to have a comprehensive knowledge of the menu.
You will be expected to take payments.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Proactive approach to work and able to work on their own initiative as well as in a team. Confident in dealing with members of the public. Experience of taking orders is an advantage but not essential.

Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
To be successful in this role you will need to be a hard worker with good communication skills and who is able to provide excellent customer service. You will need an outgoing personality and plenty of common sense, be reliable & punctual.
If the Apprenticeship is successfully completed there may be an opportunity for permanent employment within the hotel.
