Apprenticeships at JN Bentley are hands-on from day one; with a dedicated mentor to support your development, you’ll have the opportunity to work in various different departments from commercial to operations or doing operational business support.
What you’ll do:
You’ll have the opportunity to gain valuable experience working in different business areas - from customer service/client liaison to general office duties - opening your eyes to the various roles available in operational business administration.
Your day-to-day role and responsibilities might include:
- General office administrative duties including answering the phone, taking messages and customer/client liaison
- Providing support to our design teams, site managers and contract partners by being a key point of contact
- Producing and monitoring a range of project support schedules and administration
- Managing relationships with a range of different parties to ensure deadlines are met
- Assisting with internal communications within your operational area

English and Maths to GCSE Level 9-4 (A* – C) or equivalent
Level 2 Diploma in Business and Administration plus Functional Skills and Technical Certificate if appropriate.
This apprenticeship is delivered through work based learning, this means that all training is done at the workplace eliminating the need to attend college. The successful candidate will be allocated an assessor who will visit on site every 4-6 weeks and deliver all of the training to gain the qualification and provide the resources to complete work between visits.

An apprenticeship in business administration opens up a number of future career prospects in the construction and civil engineering industry - with progression opportunities in areas of customer service or operational administration and even business support roles.

Once you commence at JN Bentley, further induction training will be supplied by JN Bentley. You will also receive visits and other training from the Learning Skills Partnership representative.
