Description
Pinche Pinche is a family run Mexican Restaurant based in Leeds.
They have an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Chef to join the team to prepare fresh produce from scratch and serve freshly cooked food to eat in and take away.
Your duties will include:
Food preparation
Knife skills – chopping meat, vegetables etc.
Marinating meats
Making fresh sauces
Arranging food items on plates
Ensure correct storage of food items
Adhere to hygiene protocols and best food practices.
You will be enrolled on a level 2 Commis Chef qualification delivered to you by an award winning training provider!

A logical mind; ability to think on one’s feet; basic cutting and chopping skills.
Food Safety level 2 would be helpful but not essential.
Commis Chef Apprenticeship
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

We need skilled chefs to work in our restaurant. We will invest in the right candidate and would hope to see progression to junior, intermediate or head chef within our company. We are also about to open a second site, which will be a delivery only kitchen. The job involves training with real food, which is an asset to anyone serious about becoming a good chef. During your time with us, the rate of pay will increase alongside your skills and competence.
