You will provide admin support across the division, coordinating specific tasks to assist in the effective and cohesive operation of each functional unit. The Strategy & Policy Division provides an opportunity to gain an oversight of the work of the SFO.
The SFO is a specialist prosecuting authority tackling the top level of serious or complex fraud, bribery and corruption. We are part of the UK criminal justice system covering England, Wales and Northern Ireland, but not Scotland, the Isle of Man or the Channel Islands.

Day to day duties include -
Assisting in the development of external engagement plans
Coordinating arrangements for events
Contributing to the maintenance of divisional databases & records
Contributing to the development & maintenance of the Operational Handbook
Supporting the Division’s compliance with corporate responsibilities
Drafting agendas & taking minutes at divisional meetings
Processing financial transactions for the Division, purchase orders & invoices
Carrying out general admin duties
This position is initially for a period of 12 months after which time the post will be reviewed and either terminated, extended or converted to permanent, depending on all relevant factors, including individual performance, the external business environment, and internal business requirements. On conversion to permanency and successful completion of the apprenticeship, the salary will increase to 22,800 per annum.
Weekly contracted working hours are 36 per week, excluding breaks. Daily start and finish times can be between the hours of 08:30-18:00 subject to agreement with the line manager for this position and the needs of the post.
All SFO employees and contractors must fulfil the requirements of the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (or Basic Check, ‘BC’) prior to joining the SFO and many of our roles will require a higher level of security clearance, Security Check (‘SC’). Offers of employment are made based on the satisfactory outcome of these checks. The level of clearance for the role will be explicit on the advert. You should note that due to the nature of our work, the Serious Fraud Office has an exception to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions Order 1975) which means that as part of the Basic Check you must disclose any spent or unspent convictions, providing as much detail as possible. Failure to declare a conviction may disqualify you from appointment. If you have any spent or unspent convictions for fraud, theft or dishonesty it is unlikely that you would be appointed.
