Description

Great opportunity for an Apprentice Groom (non-riding position) to join our team. Full training will be provided for those with some basic knowledge and experience.

This is primarily a non-riding position, however, we do have livery horses and youngsters on-site which need daily exercise so riding may be an option for an apprentice with riding abilities to a high standard – not novice!

There will also be opportunities to learn how to groom for hunting and showing, as well as opportunities to go with liveries to lessons, clinics etc. during the working day.

Hours will be 7am – 12:30pm and 2:30pm – 5pm, Sunday to Thursday.

No public transport to yard so successful candidate must be able to drive or get a lift every day.

General duties to include;

  • Catching in
  • Turning out
  • Mucking out
  • Poo picking
  • Filling hay nets
  • Keeping the yard tidy
  • Skipping out
  • Rug changing
  • Bathing
  • Trimming/pulling/clipping
  • Lunging

Accommodation will be included as part of the Apprenticeship. Please note that you will need to supply your own food, however, breakfast will be provided at the yard.

Successful candidate will be hard-working, enthusiastic and interested to learn all aspects of a livery yard. No public transport to yard so successful candidate must be able to drive or get a lift every day.
Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2.
