Description

The Equestrian Centre has 35 horses of all sizes and capabilities. Complete beginners, both adults and children, are catered for as well as the more proficient riders wishing to improve their skills in jumping, dressage or cross country. The full size all weather arena and training pen ensures a good training environment.

From time to time The Equestrian Centre also run specialist clinics with top riders from the world of show jumping eventing and dressage.

Breaking-in and schooling of horses, difficult horses for retraining, lessons provided by our experienced and qualified staff in the all-weather arena including show-jumping, dressage and cross country schooling.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Some experience with horses would be beneficial
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training supported by Haddon Training

Possibility of Level 3 Horse Care Apprenticeship on completion of Level 2
