Description
This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Apprentice Chef at Ring O’Bells.
You will be working with an experienced, close knit team to uphold a brilliant reputation for food.
Duties Include:
Preparing vegetables, salads, soups & sauces
Preparing ingredients for dishes upon the instructions of the chef
Ensuring that best food practices and kitchen hygiene protocols are adhered to
Making sure that food supplies are stored properly and used resourcefully
Baking
Working with fresh produce
Arranging food items on serving plates
Making sure that the kitchen is clean and organised at all times
Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness
You will complete a Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship, which will be delivered to you in the workplace.

A Maths GCSE is desirable, but not essential, as it may be completed as part of the course (Functional Skills Maths & English).
Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship specialising in Food Production
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
Being a small, close knit team, were the owner play a hands on role, the ideal candidate should show the commitment and enthusiasm shown by the other team members. Willingness to be flexible and learn from other team members is important.
Once the successful candidate completes the apprenticeship, if both parties are in agreement, this could lead to a permanent full time chef position, with an increased salary.
