Description
Rendezvous Coffee Shop are looking for someone to join their hospitality team!
You will be working as part of the kitchen team to assist the main cook, who is responsible for preparing and cooking.
You will also ensure that the work area is kept as clean as possible at all times. This is a busy and fast paced environment where you’ll learn the basics and more of a commercial kitchen.
Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining a high level of hygiene and work in a safe manner at all times.
Ensuring basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible.
Plating a range of starters, sandwiches and side dishes.
Washing, peeling and cutting a range of vegetables on a daily basis.
Learning about food safety.
Cleaning down the kitchen after service.
Assisting with receiving of deliveries, putting stock away promptly.
Working effectively as part of the kitchen team and keep in communication with your colleagues.

You must be good with time keeping, have a keen interest in hospitality and be willing to learn.
No specific qualifications required, as full training is to be provided. However basic maths and English skills are desirable.
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship specialising in Food Production
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

There is a possibility of permanent employment on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
