Detailed Job Description

Location

Primarily based at Workspace House, Maxwell Road, Peterborough; with occasional travel to Little Miracles Head Office (The Spinney, Hartwell Way, Peterborough). The role will require irregular but often travel to other locations to meet business needs.

Main Responsibilities

  • To engage with service users, Little Miracles’ branch committee members and Little Miracles’ Senior Management Team to ascertain what types of funding are required by the Charity and its users
  • To be engaged with evolving fundraising environments; for instance using email newsletters to be made aware of grant programmes that Little Miracles could benefit from, or using tools to find prospective funders
  • To work within Little Miracles’ current two-man Business Development Officer team to manage workflows to satisfy the financial needs of the Charity and maintain high levels of service for its users
  • To use critical thinking and creative writing skills to create realistic, achievable and persuasive project applications, using business terminology and concepts
  • To be well organised; being able to keep on top of which activities are funded and which require funding at each of our 13 branches
  • To handle and process data in a manner that is compliant with Data Protection regulations
  • To fulfil apprenticeship coursework requirements to a satisfactory level and within agreed timescales

Additional Responsibilities

  • To build and manage relationships with grant funders via telephone conversations and email exchanges
  • To use Little Miracles’ CRM system Salesforce to benefit all staff and to manage personal workflow
  • To act as an ambassador of the Charity; to be presentable and well-spoken
  • To take occasional responsibilities in organising, administrating and/or managing fundraising events and digital marketing programmes
  • To take occasional responsibilities in meeting with businesses in order to create opportunities for Little Miracles
  • To be willing to help the wider Little Miracles team in any reasonable way, where required

Qualifications required

Good standard of English Literature/ English Language

Skills required

Good written communication

Good research skills

Decent understanding of Microsoft word and/or Google Docs

Future prospects

Successful candidates can continue their learning by going on to level 4/5 business, or going for a distance learning course.
