Description

The Wooden Horse Day Nursery at Wykeham is looking for a ‘person like us’ to support our professional team. You will be supporting children between 6mths and 4 1/2years in their early years, supporting their developmental care needs and providing a variety of safe, stimulating activities to support their learning.

As part of your apprenticeship role you will –

1. Complete training programmes as agreed with your NVQ assessor.

2. Maintain standards and reputation of The Wooden Horse Day Nursery at all times. DBS checks are essential.

3. Be able to work as a team; helping to carry out duties as outlined by setting practitioners to help support the day-to-day care, development and education of the children in their care

4. Be aware of and implement all Nursery Policies.

5. To gain understanding knowledge and skills to support, the Early Years Foundation Stage where appropriate.

Time will be spent supporting the team within three age groups - Kinder 6 months – 2 years, Big Kinder 2 - 3 years and Nursery 3 - 4 ½ years.

Good time keeping skills. Show a genuine interest in the care and development of young children. They need to be able to work well within a small friendly team.
GCSE C or above in Maths and English is preferable but not essential.

Level 2 Children and Young People’s Workforce Apprenticeship

Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.

You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.

You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.

Fun, happy, hard working, child friendly, committed, flexible, good communication skills.
After completing the level 2 or level 3 childcare qualification. There is an potential for a permanent position with in the setting. Further Training to higher levels could also be an option.
