Description

This is a riding position with weekly coaching included in Apprenticeship training for competent rider. There will also be schooling involved with opportunities to compete. The better the jockey the more you will do!

South African rider, trainer and coach with a successful competition record up to and including International show jumping level is looking for a full time Horse Care Apprentice to assist with all general groom duties.

She has run a small yard specialising in the production of sport horses, as well as providing breaking and schooling services. Most of the horses are sourced direct from the breeders as foals or unbroken youngsters to raise and produce over a number of years so they can ensure they really do know their histories and catering to both amateurs and professionals.

Every horse is treated as part of the team, whether they are here 10 days or 10 years. The owner is an experienced coach specialising in confidence building and technique for both horse and rider, particularly over fences.

Some previous experience with horses.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Must be outgoing and personable to fit in with existing team. Willing to work outside in all weathers.
Opportunity to progress onto a Level 3 Apprenticeship, or gain a permanent position.
No accommodation available. It is not possible to bring your own horse. Riding available for competent rider.
