Ideally looking for 17+ year old with some experience, but training will be given. Excellent training will be provided in all aspects. The successful candidate must be prepared to be challenged to work to the very highest standards. The position is either live in or live out. We are a very sociable Hunt with lots of fundraising functions held throughout the year. The candidate will have the opportunity to hunt on a regular basis, we have 9 horses from 16hh to 17.3hh TB and sports horses. It is a riding position so candidates will need to be competent in walk trot and canter. The role is to work alongside the Yard Manager preparing and providing fit, well turned out horses for the Hunt. There could also be the opportunity for the right candidate to have lessons on the horses to help school them with a close friend of mine who used to show jump internationally. The hunt season runs from Aug until the end of April, after which there are less riding days but lots of maintenance jobs so the role creates a really rounded individual. It is during this time that any holiday is to be taken before the season starts again in Aug. The accommodation is a room in our family home with its own TV, use of a sitting room and we share a large family kitchen. General duties to include; Mucking out Turning out/bringing in Tack cleaning Tacking up Feeding Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming Bathing Rug changing Schooling Riding First aid Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Some previous experience with horses.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
