Description

An exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and highly committed person to work/train on a busy National Hunt and Racing yard, working towards a Grooms Level 2 Apprenticeship. Excellent training will be provided in all aspects. The successful candidate must be prepared to be challenged to work to the very highest standards. The position is either live in or live out. Previous racing experience is not necessary but the applicants must be an experienced rider and confident riding strong fit thoroughbreds. A good work ethic is required along with someone that has a passion for racing. Maximum weight limit is 11.7 stones.

General duties to include; Mucking out Turning out/bringing in Tack cleaning Tacking up Feeding Filling hay nets Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming Bathing Rug changing Schooling Riding First aid Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.) Holding for vet/farrier/dentist.

Some previous experience with horses.
Must be able to work towards Level 1 or higher in Functional Skills maths and English
Full training through the Equine Apprenticeship supported by Haddon Training.
Must be keen, hard-working and willing to work outdoors in all weathers
Opportunity for a full-time job or progression to a Level 3 apprenticeship.
