Description
This is a great opportunity to learn and develop your skills working in both our new staff restaurant serving 500 covers daily and our busy hospitality kitchens. You will be supported by our team of passionately foodie chefs.As Commis Chef you will prepare and present high quality food in line with Elior UK objectives and client requirements. Our menus are varied, innovative and challenging and you will have every opportunity to get involved with them
Key Tasks & Responsibilities: As Commis Chef you will be expected to:
•Ensure food preparation and control meets requirements in respect of COSHH, Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to and any incidents are reported in line with procedures.
•Support manager in maintaining, ordering and controlling food stocks within budget.
•Be responsible for maintaining up to date product and menu knowledge, and maintaining a high standard of food preparation and presentation, ensuring portion and quality control.
•Be responsible for collecting and checking deliveries as required and placing them in the appropriate storage areas.
•Be responsible for ensuring high standards of cleanliness of all areas in the kitchen and of equipment.
•Provide support to other members of the kitchen and front of house team as required.
Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the Level 2 Hospitality Team Member and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

No specific qualifications required, as full training is to be given. However basic maths and English skills are desirable.
Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship specialising in Food Production
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
