Description
San Lorenzo Washington has an exciting opportunity for a kitchen apprentice to join their busy team.
We are looking for an individual who is looking to take their first step into a world of catering. Working alongside a vibrant team with vast amounts of experience we want to really push this individual to progress and gain the experience and qualifications necessary to move them onto the next level in catering.
This position, is to work in a busy kitchen, preparing, cooking and storing food. You will be working alongside a team of qualified chefs, who will train you in all aspects of working in a kitchen, including health and safety.
Your duties will also include cleaning, doing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and tidy at all times.
If you have an interest in food, good organisational and time management skills this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Level 2 Hospitality Team Member Apprenticeship specialising in Food Production
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
Must be a team player and eager to learn the skills and knowledge required for the job role.
Work well with others and also be prepared to work alone.
Must have good communication skills and use their own initiative.
There is potential for a permanent position with the employer on successful completion of the apprenticeship with excellent career progression opportunities for the right person.
