Description

We are set in 50 acres (20 hectares) of land and provide an exceptional resource for our pupils to experience and appreciate the life of a working farm, with a wide variety of animals ranging from small pets to livestock and horses. The farm is a short walk from the main school campus, and is open to all pupils. It also comprises of a riding school and arena, where pupils can learn to ride and to look after horses.

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in horses, as well as riding experience. They will also have an interest in working with children of varying ages. There will be an opportunity to escort children to various events with the school show jumping team.

General duties to include;

  • Mucking out
  • Turning out/bringing in
  • Tack cleaning
  • Tacking up
  • Feeding
  • Filling hay nets
  • Clipping/pulling/plaiting/trimming
  • Bathing
  • Rug changing
  • Schooling
  • Riding
  • First aid
  • Exercising horses from the ground (lunging, horse walker, long reining, pessoa training etc.)
  • Holding for vet/farrier/dentist

Days of work to include Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday, with flexibility over remaining working days and will include two consecutive days off

Some experience with horses will be essential to this role
