Description

Red Carpet Cinema and Café Bar are keen to employ and train an Apprentice Commis Chef to learn all aspects of the kitchen, full training will be given.

This is an excellent supportive Employer, offering a first class Apprenticeship in the Commis Chef role.

Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen production areas. Washing dishes manually and also by using the dishwasher.

Training in basic food preparation and Cooking. Cleaning pots, pans and any other kitchen utensils.

Maintain the kitchen work areas in accordance with HACCP regulations. Sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor and keeping worktops clean.

Making sure that all kitchen equipment like food mixers, fridges, cookers are in good working order as per your training. Reporting any fault equipment to the Head Chef for action.

Keeping the storerooms well stocked and organized after training.

Complying with the daily cleaning rota.Carrying out regular quality assurance audits as per training.

Accepting food deliveries from suppliers and storing them as per company training. .

Using the correct amount of specialist chemicals when cleaning work surfaces and equipment as per COSHH and company training.Completion of all Kitchen Documentation as per company training.

Ensuring that at the end of the shift the kitchen is cleaned and secured ready for the morning. .

Preparation and Cooking of dishes as per training ready for service when competent.

Ensuring that appropriate levels of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in the kitchen.

As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship.

Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.

Apprenticeship Commis Chef Level 2

Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standard has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.

Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.

Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.
