Description
As an Apprentice Care Assistant, you will be working in Royal Manor Care Home for older people who primarily have dementia. The role will involve supporting people with all activities of daily living such as personal care needs, assisting to eat and drink, and continence care. You will promote their independence, dignity and respect. A caring attitude is essential, as is the ability to show empathy.
Your tasks will include:
Providing care for patients with all daily tasks including dressing, cleaning and meal times
Protect the physical and emotional welfare of the clients and ensure the correct caring environment.
Provide a high quality responsive service to enable and assist clients to retain as much independence as possible.
Provide the service in an open and honest way that the assessed needs, wishes, privacy and dignities of our clients are respected;
Ensure that the needs of the clients are paramount with regard to any decisions or activities affecting our clients care;
Provide services that meet and exceed the National Minimum Standards.
Maintain relationships with patient’s family in order to guarantee their needs are met at all times
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship.
Apprenticeship standards are aimed at developing skills within the Apprentices’ chosen career route, each standards has set knowledge, skills and behaviours required to be successful within the job role. This will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training and the employer and Babcock regional trainer confirm they have met all the requirements of the standard they will be put through to end point assessment. The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.
Each Apprentice will be supported throughout the apprenticeship by a structured programme of teaching, e-learning, face to face training and workplace mentoring; this will encourage and help them to meet the requirements of the new standards and will prepare them for the end of point assessment.

You will need to be a good communicator.You will need to have good writing skills.You must be able to work as part of a team and also independently when required.
A basic level of English and Maths. No formal qualification required.
