Description
Greenwood Academies Trust is looking to recruit two Apprentice Leisure Assistants to undertake a Level 2 Diploma in Learning and Wellbeing Operational Services whilst working at Stanground Academy in Peterborough.
Main Responsibilities
With support and under supervision
Reception duties including greeting customers, taking customer bookings and dealing with phone calls
Ensure the highest levels of customer service are maintained at all times
Effectively deal with customer queries
To undertake lifeguarding duties on poolside (following the completion of the appropriate training)
To teach swimming lessons (following the completion of the appropriate training)
To teach fitness classes (following the completion of the appropriate training)
To conduct safety checks within the Sports Centre as per the guidelines set out in the NOP/EAP
To undertake equipment set up and take downs
To undertake administration tasks as requested by the Duty Manager
To undertake cleaning tasks as required
Any other duties deemed appropriate to the role
Undertake training and duties required to complete an externally assessed qualification
On-going satisfactory completion of specified training units will be monitored during your apprenticeship
As an Apprentice you will be included on an Active Leisure Qualification. Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Vocational Learning Advisor coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship. External training for professional qualifications in lifeguarding and the delivery of fitness and swimming lessons will be provided.

You should have a good standard of fitness and be a competent swimmer as you will be required to gain the NPLQ Qualification.
No formal qualifications are required but apprentices will be required to work towards the Level 2 NVQ in Active Leisure, Learning and Well-being Operational Services.
Level 2 Apprenticeship Operational Service Health & Wellbeing
Each framework includes a diploma/certificate which shows the practical skills, a technical certificate to confirm the knowledge and understanding and Functional Skills in Maths and English.
You will be assessed throughout the apprenticeship and complete the qualification based on the competencies within your job role.
You will be assessed by a combination of observations, professional discussion, question and answer sessions and self-study which is required to confirm your knowledge and understanding of the career route you have chosen.

Able to work as a team member and on own initiative;
There is the potential for future employment and the possibility of progression on to an Advanced Level Apprenticeship
