An exciting opportunity has arisen at Cadgwith Cove Inn for an Apprentice Commis Chef to join the friendly team and to be trained under the supervision of our experienced chef No experience needed, we are looking for the following qualities:

Willingness to learn as if you are successful you will be expected to undertake the following qualifications on the job:
NVQ Level 2 & Food hygiene
Responsible for preparing and presenting high quality dishes to deliver an excellent customer experience while consistently contributing to targets.
Essentially, the Apprentice Commis Chef is responsible for ensuring that food preparation, as agreed by the Head Chef, is documented and delivered on a daily basis.
Ensuring hygiene controls are maintained by proactively doing the tasks required of them.
Duties and responsibilities
Set up section prior to the start of your shift ( see plating up responsibilities document)and keep the dessert/starter fridge stocked and clean in line with hygiene standards
Your Prepare and present high quality dishes within company guidelines
Keep all working areas clean and tidy and ensure no cross contamination
Prepare dishes for all relevant menus
Assist the Chefs to deliver excellent kitchen and company standards Communicate effectively and maintain good working relationships
Report maintenance, hygiene and hazard issues
In the absence of a Kitchen Porter, you will be expected to fulfil that role.
Comply with Cadgwith Cove Inn security, fire regulations and all health and safety and food safety legislation
Assisting the Chefs during service wherever necessary, being proactive and taking instruction.
Awareness of departmental targets and strive to achieve them as part of the teamBe environmentally aware and fulfil kitchen waste management compliance Undertake the following qualifications on the job:
NVQ Level 2 and personal development programme set by the Head Chef and Operations Manager
Ability to work a variety of shifts including weekends, days, afternoons and evenings
Kitchen shut down in January for staff holiday as part of a generous holiday entitlement
As an Apprentice you will be included on a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship.
Your Qualification will be delivered by an Award Winning Training Provider who will support your learning and development throughout your Apprenticeship. This will involve a Regional Trainer coming to visit you on a regular basis to deliver the training and guide you through your Apprenticeship.
