Description

This busy vehicle repair centre is looking to take on a trainee/apprentice vehicle body refinisher. The role will include the preparation and refinishing of steel, aluminium, plastics and composite materials on both new and repaired vehicles. The successful applicant will be trained in all aspects of applying modern paints and primers in the state-of-the-art ovens.

Apprenticeship training will be fully delivered within the workplace. You will receive regular visits from your designated college skills coach.

No prior industry experience is required; however, an interest in the motor industry and a good attitude to learning is a must. Being ‘hands on’ is also a necessary skill for a role in vehicle refinishing.

Candidates will ideally hold a GCSE grade C or above in the following subjects:

  • English
  • Maths
  • IT

Candidates must complete the college based online initial assessments and achieve a score of at least Entry Level 3 (this will be emailed to you once your application has been submitted).

You will work towards completing the Level 2 Intermediate Automotive Apprenticeship in Paint Refinishing. This may include English and Maths Functional Skills if you have not already achieved GCSE Grade C or equivalent (4) in English Language and Maths.
  • Good practical worker, someone who enjoys working with hands.
  • Must have a good eye for detail.
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team
A full time position may be available upon successful completion of the Apprenticeship
